Job summary

Conicelli Autoplex is seeking a GENESIS Automotive Technician to diagnose complex vehicle issues, perform precise repairs, and ensure every vehicle leaves the shop at peak performance. You will tackle mechanical and electrical challenges, contributing to safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a strong diagnostic ability, hands-on repair skills, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced shop environment. ASE certifications and factory training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Possesses a high school diploma or GED.
• Completes vocational training or a technical degree in automotive technology.
• Holds a minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Demonstrates a proven track record of diagnostic and repair work across various makes/models.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive automotive diagnostics to identify root causes of vehicle issues.
• Executes engine repair and overhaul to restore performance and efficiency.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, and control units.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs brake systems for safety and compliance.
• Evaluates and corrects suspension systems to improve ride and handling.
• Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems for comfortable cabin temperatures.
• Assesses and repairs transmission systems for manual and automatic issues.
• Conducts preventative maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan and prevent breakdowns.
• Applies advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve automotive problems efficiently.
• Communicates repair needs and timelines with service advisors.
• Documents all repairs and services in detailed service records.
• Adheres to safety protocols and environmental regulations in the shop.

You solve challenging mechanical and electrical problems, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive automotive diagnostics to identify root causes of vehicle issues.
• Executes engine repair and overhaul, restoring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, and control units.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs brake systems, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Possesses a high school diploma or GED.
• Completes vocational training or a technical degree in automotive technology.

Experience

• Holds a minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician in a professional setting.
• Demonstrates a proven track record of successful diagnostic and repair work across various vehicle makes and models.

Knowledge/Skills

• Exhibits expert knowledge in Automotive Diagnostics, Engine Repair, Electrical Systems, Brake Systems, Suspension Systems, HVAC Systems, Transmission Repair, Preventative Maintenance, and Troubleshooting.
• Proficiently uses diagnostic scan tools, oscilloscopes, and other specialized automotive equipment.
• Understands complex vehicle schematics and technical service bulletins.
• Applies strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to complex automotive issues.
• Communicates technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Works independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintains a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Holds current ASE certifications (e.g., Master Automobile Technician).
• Possesses specialized training or certifications from specific vehicle manufacturers.
• Experienced with advanced diagnostic software and telematics systems.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

• Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stands, bends, kneels, and crouches for extended periods.
• Works with hands and arms in various positions, including overhead.
• Operates hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Tolerates exposure to noise, fumes, automotive fluids, and varying temperatures.
