Job summary

Land Rover San Francisco is seeking a skilled line technician with strong diagnostic instincts to work on Land Rover vehicles in downtown SF. You’ll diagnose across electrical, drivetrain, ADAS, and more, perform line repairs, and document every repair order.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technician experience in a franchised dealership or European aftermarket shop.
• Strong diagnostic background required.
• Land Rover/Jaguar or European brand experience strongly preferred.
• Solid command of European vehicle systems including electrical, CAN bus, air suspension, terrain response, and ADAS.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose Land Rover vehicles across systems using JLR diagnostic platforms and OEM tools.
• Perform line repairs to manufacturer specs with speed, accuracy, and no shortcuts.
• Document findings, procedures, and parts used on each repair order.
• Explain technical findings to service advisors to support repairs and authorizations.
• Collaborate with senior technicians on complex cases.
• Stay current on Land Rover service bulletins and software updates.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation reflecting brand standards.
• Perform test drives to validate conclusions before vehicle return.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform accurate, efficient diagnosis on Land Rover vehicles across all systems -- electrical, drivetrain, suspension, ADAS, and beyond -- using JLR diagnostic platforms and OEM tools
• Execute line repairs to manufacturer specifications -- from routine maintenance to complex multi-system repairs -- with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
• Document findings, repair procedures, and parts used on every repair order with precision and clarity
• Communicate technical findings to service advisors in a way that supports accurate guest communication and repair authorization
• Collaborate with senior technicians on complex diagnostic cases -- contributing to and learning from a high-caliber team
• Stay current on Land Rover technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that reflects the standard of the brand and the shop
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of technician experience in a franchised dealership or European aftermarket shop -- required
• Strong diagnostic background -- this is the core of the role and the primary reason we're hiring
• Land Rover, Jaguar, or European brand experience strongly preferred -- other ASE certifications a strong plus
• Solid command of European vehicle systems -- advanced electrical, CAN bus, air suspension, terrain response, and ADAS
• Low comeback rate and a personal standard for quality that doesn't require managing
• Clear communicator who works effectively with advisors, the shop foreman, and fellow technicians
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
