Job summary

A.C. Moate Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator to lead smooth, level pavement surfaces on our asphalt paving crews in Washington. You will run the screed, monitor temperature, grade, and mat quality while coordinating with the paver operator to meet production targets.

We require proven field experience, the ability to read plans, a valid CDL preferred, and a flexible schedule including extended hours and weekends. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Asphalt Screed Operator.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Flexible schedule including extended hours and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)

Responsibilities

• Operate the screed on asphalt paving equipment to achieve proper width, depth, and finish.
• Control mat quality, including smoothness, grade, and consistency.
• Monitor asphalt temperature and material flow.
• Adjust screed settings to meet required grades and slopes.
• Work with the paver operator and crew to maintain consistent production.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on screed and paving equipment.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and job requirements.
• Maintain production pace and meet job timelines.
• Communicate with foreman, project managers, and crew members
