Job summary

Walbec Group seeks an Experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to join our asphalt manufacturing plants. You will assist in operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment to produce asphalt mix for paving operations, while learning related construction equipment under supervision.

Under the Foreman's guidance, you’ll help ensure high-quality material and safe, efficient operations across shifts. This role requires reliability, strong communication, and readiness for varied hours in a rugged, dusty

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
• Capable of working in dirty and dusty environments.
• Able to work in confined spaces and elevated platforms (over 50').
• Union membership may be required; company can assist with the process.
• EPA/OSHA-related safety awareness is required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Related field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work site including shoveling and skid steer operation.
• Monitor equipment operation for consistent flow of materials to produce high-quality, in-spec hot mix asphalt.
• Load out trucks for material distribution using computerized operations.
• Learn and perform various tasks as needed; be a team player.
• Feed aggregate materials into the asphalt plant.
• Replace wear components on plant equipment (including cutting, welding, fabricating).
• Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces as required.
• Monitor aggregate gradations and moisture contents to ensure material consistency.
• Monitor hot mix asphalt test results to verify quality and adherence to specs.
• Operate equipment such as Welders (Stick, MIG), Oxy Acetylene Torches, Pneumatic Jackhammers, Power Tools, Front End Loader, Skid Steer Loader, Aerial Lift, Telehandler, Water Truck, Dump Trucks.
