Job summary

Weyerhaeuser seeks a Senior Accountant to support the Accounting team in Seattle. You will record, verify, and report financial results, and provide analysis to leaders for informed decision-making.

You will lead and mentor peers on processes, contribute to controls and audits, and help identify improvements while advancing within a dynamic finance organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with one or more years of progressively responsible experience.
  • CPA licensed or CPA eligibility preferred but not required.

You will be a key contributor that supports our businesses and corporate functions, our team, and our broader accounting organization. Your role will be responsible for recording, verifying, and reporting our financial results, while providing key analysis and recommendations to leaders and decision makers.

As a senior accountant, you will also be an emerging leader on our team, involved with review and approval, as well as working with other accountants on their processes and development.

  • Perform financial closing activities, such as preparing journal entries and other work papers

  • Support audit requirements including internal, external and compliance audits
  • Work with your peers and leaders to identify and implement process improvements
  • Participate in special projects, developmental opportunities, and other tasks as assigned

Your qualifications – You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with one or more years of experience with progressing levels of responsibility. CPA licensed or CPA eligibility is preferred but not required.

Compensation:
  • This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting an hourly range of $33.36 - $50.05 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience.
  • You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash incentive targeting 5% of base pay.
  • Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:
  • Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our contribution equal to 5% of your eligible pay.
Paid Time Off or Vacation:
  • We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment.
  • In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use.
  • We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
