ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Monroe, NC is seeking an Experienced General Maintenance Technician for 3rd shift to diagnose, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment used in producing door closers and controls. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, welding, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in facility maintenance within a fast-paced plant, plus forklift and lifting equipment experience.

Qualifications

• Requires 5 years of experience in General Maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities (welding, brazing, cutting, metal fabrication, piping, carpentry).
• Ability to read machine prints and use micrometers/calipers; operate manual power tools.
• Familiarity with conduit, fittings, joints, and equipment for plant services.
• Experience and certifications with forklifts, scissor lifts, and other motorized vehicles.
• Must have NC Driver’s License and clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team; willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose manufacturing equipment malfunctions and perform repairs using test equipment and tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing machines, including automation and CNC equipment.
• Perform general facility upkeep including plumbing, welding, painting, HVAC and more.
• Demonstrate motivation to improve skills and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to electrical codes and specifications; follow ISO procedures and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
