Job summary

Atlanta Soundworks is seeking an Experience Technician Contractor for remote AV/Video/Control installations. You will set up, install, test, troubleshoot, and document systems to ASW standards, ensuring a fully functional experience for clients.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings with the PM, mounting and wiring gear, loading control codes, and performing commissioning with the Field Engineer. Travel and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with AV system troubleshooting and service delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven customer service experience and professional conduct.
• IP networking knowledge relevant to AV deployments.
• Willingness to travel and occasional after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Understand drawings with Project Manager and review related schedules.
• Verify drawings, code, site photos, and job description are complete.
• Ensure cables, connectors, hardware, and tools are available.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle with tools and safety gear.
• Conduct site walkthrough with PM and review installation details.
• Install equipment per ASW standards and document progress daily.
• Perform minor DSP changes and load control code as needed.
• Commission the system with Field Engineer and document changes.
• Label wires per drawings and ensure proper labeling.
• Dispose trash and leave site cleaner than arrival.
• Capture redlines in PlanGrid and submit to engineering for as-builts.

Job description

This is a remote position.

Goals and Outcomes: The Experience Technician Contractor is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting Audio/Video/Control and related equipment in accordance with ASW standards to create an experience that will help our clients impress their audience.

Essential Functions

• Understand and review all drawings with the Project Manager, so that all related information, Schedules and documentation is understood.
• Verify all of the drawings, code, site pictures, and job description are complete and you have access to them.
• Make certain all cables, connectors, hardware and tools needed to complete the project are available and collected.
• Maintain a clean an organized vehicle with appropriate tools, ladders and safety equipment.
• Complete walk through of the site with the PM and go over all details of the installation.
• Verify working times and access to the workspace.
• Install all equipment per ASW documentation and standards.
• Perform minor DSP changes and load control code as necessary.
• Ensure that the job is completed to ASW and industry standards for a safe and fully functional system.
• Submit a Daily Mission report using the template in PlanGrid that includes photo documentation of work completed and issues.
• Ensure that all equipment is connected per the drawings.
• If the drawings are incorrect for functionality, mark the necessary changes accordingly in PlanGrid..
• Ensure that every wire has a label and it is marked according to the drawings.
• Ensure that the trash is disposed of and the site is cleaner than it was when you arrived.
• Work with the Field Engineer to perform and document system commissioning.
• Capture all redlines on PlanGrid drawings and submit all changes to engineering for as-built drawings.

Requirements

• Tools and testing equipment necessary to complete the mission.
• PlanGrid license
• Tablet with PlanGrid app and cellular or hotspot connectivity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven customer service experience
• IP networking knowledge
• AV system troubleshooting skills
• Setup and connection of VTC units (Cisco, Lifesize, Polycom, etc…)
• Setup and load code into Control Systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron, etc…)
• Setup and load code into DSP (BSS, Biamp, ClearOne, etc…)
• Install and configure Interactive displays (SMART, Planar, Newline, etc…)
• Wireless Microphone frequency coordination
• Video Wall setup and configuration
• Occasional after hours and/or travel may be required.
