Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking a role responsible for final testing and commissioning of complex audio-visual systems at customer sites. You will provide technical and management leadership on major tasks and work with the Project Manager to document test results and commissioning outcomes.

The role requires reading schematics, validating installs, troubleshooting AMX/Crestron and DSP systems, and ensuring optimal system performance while traveling to various job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and blueprints.
• Proven ability to test and commission AV systems.
• Experience with AMX/Crestron and DSP programming is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to validate installations.
• Test point-to-point functionality and verify system integration.
• Troubleshoot AV systems and perform commissioning on AMX/Crestron and DSP.
• Upload/download control programs and write DSP code.
• Provide client training and final project documentation.

This position will also provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to provide documented test result from system testing and commissioning.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role is responsible for the final testing and commissioning of complexed Audio-Visual systems during and post build. This position will also provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to provide documented test result from system testing and commissioning.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Test point-to-point functionality of systems
• Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness of installation
• Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX/Crestron and DSP systems
• Field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron) – upload and download capability
• Write code for DSP systems
• Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
• Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance
• Configure IP addressable devices to establish communication on a network
• Perform client training and final job documentation as needed
• Act as a customer liaison in absence of Project Manager
• Create, track, and complete a project Punchlist
• Ability to travel to various job sites required
• Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

• This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

Must-Haves:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders up to heights of 35 feet; lifting equipment, tools, and materials.

• Employees operating company or personal vehicles for business purposes must be legally authorized to drive, maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of coverage, meeting all minimum required insurance coverage as a condition of employment.
• Employees driving fleet vehicles must meet eligibility requirements; comply with all guidelines, including telematics monitoring, vehicle maintenance schedules, proper use of assigned fuel and toll devices.

Nice-To-Haves:

• Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of AV Installation experience preferred
• A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
• Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.) both hardware and software
• AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent standing, walking, and physical activity.
• Regular bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Climbing, overhead work, and working at heights.
• Use of tools and equipment as required.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Heavier lifting may require assistance or mechanical support.
