Job summary

First Command Financial Services, Inc. is recruiting a User Experience Researcher & Designer to join the Experience Design and XTO team.

You will understand user needs across military families and collaborate with product managers, engineers, and leadership. You will conduct primary research, create flows, journeys, IA, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma while leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate ideation and synthesis.

Qualifications

• Degree in related studies or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years in UX research/design roles.
• 1–2 years leading UX researchers/designers.
• Proficiency with Figma and AI-powered design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design of user-centered experiences across web, mobile, and emerging platforms.
• Create user flows, journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver design solutions.
• Leverage AI-powered design, research, and prototyping tools to accelerate ideation and improve workflows.
• Utilize generative AI for research synthesis, content creation, concept development, and design exploration.
• Conduct and apply user research, usability testing, and customer feedback to inform design decisions.
• Present design concepts, strategy, and rationale to stakeholders and leadership.
• Translate complex business requirements and technical constraints into intuitive experiences.
• Contribute to design systems and component libraries for consistency.
• Advocate for accessibility, inclusive design, and usability throughout development.
• Lead design reviews, workshops, and cross-team collaboration to drive innovation.
• Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of design excellence with emerging tech.
• Influence product vision, UX strategy, and roadmap planning.
