Job summary

US Foods is offering a Summer Internship Program where students will work on real projects and be mentored by a design team to create engaging digital experiences. The Experience Design Intern will assist with explorations, visual comps, and prototypes, gaining hands-on experience with design tools and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a design degree program (UX, Industrial, Visual/Graphic, or related).
• Students between their Junior and Senior years or 1st/2nd year of graduate study will be considered for internships.
• Design portfolio showcasing creativity, process, and problem-solving.
• Strong attention to detail in design work.
• Ability to communicate ideas through sketches, illustrations, and wireframes.

Responsibilities

• Generate design explorations from sketches to high-res prototypes.
• Work on 1–2 design projects at different stages with team collaboration.
• Contribute to evolving digital system standards for cohesive experiences across US Foods platforms.
• Participate in design-thinking workshops and develop user personas via empathy mapping.
• Support research activities that promote end-user advocacy.
• Maintain accountability for design quality, timelines, and user experience.
• Present design topics clearly to colleagues and incorporate feedback.
