Job summary

US Foods is seeking an Experience Design Intern to learn and contribute to projects that focus on creating engaging and intuitive digital experiences. You’ll support the team by assisting with design explorations, creating visual comps, and helping prepare prototypes that bring ideas to life.

Throughout the internship, you’ll gain hands‑on experience with design tools and processes, while collaborating with Experience Design team members and partners across the organization.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with a focus in Design (UX, Industrial, Visual/Graphic, or related).
• Design portfolio showcasing creativity, process, and problem-solving.
• Ability to communicate ideas through sketches, illustrations, and wireframes.

Responsibilities

• Generate design explorations of various fidelity levels (from sketches to high-res) and semi-interactive prototypes (Figma, Sketch, or similar).
• Work on 1–2 design projects at different stages, while collaborating with colleagues on additional efforts.
• Contribute to evolving digital system standards that ensure cohesive experiences across US Foods digital platforms.
• Participate in and help organize design-thinking workshops; use empathy mapping to define user personas.
• Support research activities that drive end-user advocacy.
• Maintain accountability for design quality, timelines, and overall user experience.
• Clearly articulate and present design-related topics to colleagues.
• Actively receive and incorporate feedback while providing constructive input to peers.
