Job summary

Mid-Continent Engineering is seeking an Expeditor to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. This full-time position supports production by expediting components and materials, coordinating with multiple departments to avoid delays, and ensuring timely staging and delivery to production lines.

The role requires 5+ years of expeditor experience in manufacturing, proficiency with Epicor ERP, and a forklift certification.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years related experience as an expeditor in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP Software is required or similar software.
  • Must achieve & maintain a forklift certification and safely operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

Mid Continent Engineering is seeking an Expeditor to join our team!This is a 6 am to 4:30 pm- Monday through Thursday opportunity.

Mid-Continent Engineering stuffs the armed forces supply chain with products of our capabilities such as precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design-assist services.

Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for expediting components and material throughout the production floor. Tracking down and staging by job in support of the production schedule throughout the departments and making sure that nothing is just sitting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Experience with an ERP system to track jobs, operations, and inventory. Effectively use production reports and tools available.
  • Responsible for ensuring all changes in material and component inventory count is properly captured and entered ERP.
  • Tracks and move materials/parts between departments
  • Communicate with internal departments to act as a bridge between warehouse, operations, quality and shipping to mitigate delays. Coordinating with departments leads to timing of urgent commitments; ensuring commutation.
  • Helps keep everyone aligned and informed about production status and any changes in schedule due to expediting reasons
  • Aids with material and consumable shortages
  • Support NCM/DMR and RMA’s ensuring parts have high priority.
  • Assist with supporting transactions, job clean up, and job closing in Epicor.
  • Ensuring material and components do not show obvious signs of damage during the pick and staging process or after transfer of material and components to the proper Production location.
  • Making sure all components are properly identified per the pick list.
  • Must have on-time delivery of staged materials to the applicable production floor work center as indicated by job.
  • Enable safe, effective use and operation of tier lift truck, convey, forklift, pallet jack, or hoist to move product from shipping & receiving platform to inventory and/or Production work area.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • 5+ years related experience as an expeditor in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP Software is required or similar software
  • Must achieve & maintain a company forklift certification. Also understand how to safely operate a forklift; speeds, watching out for pedestrians, etc.
