Job summary

Schuff Steel in Lindon, Utah is seeking a Material Expeditor to coordinate the flow of steel parts from receiving through cutting. The role requires operating overhead cranes and forklifts, directing crew, and ensuring safety procedures are followed on the shop floor.

The Expeditor will verify incoming steel per receiving procedures, move materials to correct locations, and collaborate with team members to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience.
• Experience with crane, rigging and forklifts preferred.

Must have experience with crane, rigging and forklifts to manage and move steel material as needed. Core Responsibilities

Education/Training - Work Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months of directly related and stable work experience.

Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & Licenses

• Equipment Knowledge & Skills – may include but not limited to cranes and rigging, forklifts.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
