Job summary

DBM Global Inc. is seeking a Production Helper to support Schuff Steel fabrication and welding operations in Phoenix, AZ. You will assist in positioning and preparing metal parts, manage materials, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities include handling stock and tools, supporting fabricators, and completing required safety tests and PPE compliance. This role offers steady full-time employment and growth opportunities within a world-class steel construction team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and/or 12 months experience.
• Equipment knowledge includes overhead cranes, forklifts and hand grinders.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Reasoning ability: follow written or diagrammed instructions and solve concrete problems.

• Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.
• Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
• Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Perform other routine duties.
• Assist fellow employees as directed.
• Pass the tacking test on Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead.
• Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.

Education/Training - Work Experience

• Equipment Knowledge & Skills – Equipment generally used includes but is not limited to overhead cranes, forklifts and hand grinders.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
