Job summary

Lindblad Expeditions seeks a Shipboard Head Chef to lead culinary operations on our expedition vessels. You will head a six‑member galley team, overseeing cooking, plating, inventory, sanitation, and on‑time provisioning across remote itineraries.

This physically demanding, full‑time role requires strong leadership, teamwork, and the ability to perform under pressure at sea. Eligible candidates must meet STCW and USCG requirements and embrace a remote, dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a culinary team; formal culinary school training and passenger ship experience preferred.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and communicate effectively with galley staff and shoreside personnel.
• Physically able to work on your feet in a high-temperature galley for 10–12 hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of guest and crew dining, bringing Lindblad's menu matrix to life with regional, sustainable ingredients.
• Own the full cycle of meal production and actively cook alongside your team.
• Manage provisioning end-to-end: ordering, loading, inventory, FIFO, and supplier communication.
