Job summary

Barrick Mining Corporation’s Fourmile expansion seeks a Superintendent of Finance, Cost Control and Capital Reporting to lead budget setup, forecasting, cost-to-complete, and governance for the project. You will partner with project leadership, site finance, engineering, construction, and supply chain to deliver decision-grade reporting and manage commitments and accruals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Mining Engineering, or a related field required.
• CPA, CMA, CIMA, MBA, PMP, AACE / CCP, or other recognized project controls certification preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive experience across capital controls, project controls, project finance, cost control, FP&A, capital accounting, mining finance, construction / project reporting, or major project evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience supporting major capital projects, expansions, mine development, construction, or capital-intensive operations strongly preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred, ideally guiding small project-based cost or capital teams.
• Hands-on proficiency with ERP, planning, and BI platforms (SAP, OneStream, Power BI, Tableau preferred), project controls and capital evaluation tools (e.g. Primavera P6, EcoSys, Prism, Xeras), and advanced Excel-based financial modeling.
• Strong understanding of capital governance, cost code structures, commitments, accruals, forecasts, contingency, change control, project economics, and variance analysis.
• Track record of delivering decision-grade capital reporting, cost-to-complete analysis, business case evaluation, and post-implementation reviews to project, site, and CFO audiences.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a fit-for-purpose project budget structure for the Fourmile expansion, including WBS, project codes, cost code governance, and capital classification aligned to North America Capital Controls standards.
• Track expansion project costs, commitments, accruals, and capital spend against approved budgets and the latest forecast, with clear linkage between source systems, project controls tools, and management reporting.
• Maintain commitment and accrual visibility across engineering, construction, procurement, and owner’s costs, ensuring period-end positions are complete, accurate, and traceable.
• Validate capital classification, expense vs. capital treatment, and cost allocation logic with site finance, accounting, and the Senior Manager - Capital Controls.
• Reconcile project cost ledgers, ERP, and project controls outputs, resolving differences and embedding controls that prevent recurrence.
