Job summary

DSG-Canusa is seeking an Expansion/Extrusion Operator to run and maintain the extrusion, expansion, and rewinding processes. You will work within a team and adapt to production demands while upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include machine changeovers, handoffs between shifts, documentation, and supporting maintenance. This role emphasizes training new staff and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing experience required.
• Experience setting up and operating production equipment.
• Experience handling mechanical measuring equipment.
• Experience with extrusion, blow molding, or injection molding preferred.
• Ability to read gauges and interpret specifications.
• Knowledge of lean principles and SPC charts will help performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise machine production in the expansion/extrusion area.
• Changeover and start-up machinery; perform shift handoffs.
• Support and assist with machine maintenance and servicing.
• Record material and labor usage accurately.
• Ensure safety and environmental standards are followed.
• Train new or junior employees on SOP and quality controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
