Job summary

KIPP SoCal Public Schools is seeking an Expanded Learning Program Instructor in the Los Angeles area to help run before/after school programs, summer sessions, and intersession activities designed to support students' academic, social, emotional, and physical development through hands-on experiences.

The role emphasizes safe, engaging activities led in collaboration with teachers and families, with a year-round schedule (Aug–June plus summer).

Qualifications

Minimum education: High School diploma (KIPP assessment before interview).
AA degree or 2 years coursework at a four-year college preferred.
Experience with groups of elementary or middle school students preferred.
Ability to lead groups while prioritizing safety.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Ability to work with teachers, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

Provide academic assistance, intervention, and recreational activities in small groups and whole-class settings.
Develop, create and implement academic, recreational, and enrichment activities.
Supervise assigned students to ensure safety and orderly operation.
Support and aid classroom teachers as assigned.
Assist with event planning.
Maintain attendance records and report progress.
