Job summary

High Tech High is seeking an Assistant Coordinator for Expanded Learning on the Chula Vista campus. The role provides direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director, and may serve as second in charge in their absence.

The position focuses on mentoring, tutoring, activity leadership, and sports coaching to enhance the school day. The ideal candidate supports outreach to families, coordinates curriculum, and ensures a safe, engaging environment for students.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with students.
• Clearances: Tuberculosis Clearance and Department of Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and communication to families.
• Serve as direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director.
• May serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director.
• Supervise school‑aged children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students.
• Take attendance to ensure all students are accounted for.
• Plan, develop, and facilitate engaging student activities.
• Assist students with learning activities and homework assignments.
• Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols.
