Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Registration/Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• As Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, perform daily duties to help create lasting impressions and build trust with patients.
• Assist with direction to DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory; ensure staff compliance.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and equipment.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA requirements and Aspen safety guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Provide patients with oral care instructions and education on hygiene.
