Job summary

Gentle Dentist in Westfield, IN is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support dentists and hygienists, prepare treatment rooms, and assist with restorations and crowns. This role emphasizes accurate diagnostics, patient comfort, and efficient chairside support.

The ideal candidate will hold EFDA certification (or equivalent), CPR/BLS, and a high school diploma, with strong knowledge of dental procedures and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• EFDA certification or equivalent.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Delivers clinically excellent dental care through education and quality treatment. Assists dentists and hygienists in quality diagnosis through X-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
• Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access; suctioning; and passing instruments.
• Places and finishes permanent restorations, completes preliminary impressions, makes and polishes temporary crowns, removal temporary crowns, and fitting of permanent crowns and bridges, adjusting occlusions and interproximal areas, application of sealants, and adjusting partials and dentures.
