Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04: chairside assisting, simple and temporary restorations, radiographs, and infection control.
• Education: full 4-year dental assistant or dental hygiene program with at least 24 semester hours in radiation physics and related courses.
• Combination of Education and Experience: meets 100% of qualification requirements.
• GS-06 requires advanced duties in restorations, expanded functions, nitrous oxide monitoring, x-rays, coronal polishing, sealant application, and fluoride application.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside and anticipate instrument and material needs.
• Perform intra‑oral radiographic procedures and assist with radiology quality control.
• Provide infection control and prep patient records for treatment and follow‑up.
