Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support doctors and staff in daily procedures and patient care. You will assist with a range of treatment procedures, radiographs, sterilization, and patient education in a fast-paced dental practice.

The role requires 2+ years of dental assisting experience, state radiology certification, and CPR/BLS. Excellent teamwork, compliance with OSHA/HIPAA, and ability to train others are key to success.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license/registration
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant
• Proficient in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry
• Demonstrate proper sterilization and infection control techniques
• Maintain annual CE requirements as specified by state
• State certification in expanded functions as required

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and hygienists during a variety of procedures.
• Support efficient patient flow and chairside assistance.
• Breakdown operatory rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA requirements and Aspen safety guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs and provide post-procedure patient instructions.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care after procedures.
• Assist with lab cases and manage supplies within the budget.
• Train staff on patient handoffs and workflow management.
