Job summary

Ohio Kids Dental (Maumee) joins Kids Dental Brands, a growing pediatric dental network. We seek an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support dentists, take x-rays, prepare instruments, and help educate patients on oral care.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/BLS Certification is required.
• EFDA LVL 1 Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist office managers in supporting and supervising back-office employees.
• Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care and general laboratory duties.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Take impressions of the patient's teeth (models), extractions, composite fillings, etc.
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
• Ask about the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
