Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest is seeking a dental assistant to support dentists, hygienists and other provider staff in a Kaiser Permanente dental office in Portland, Oregon. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, radiographs, instrument processing, infection control, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a dental assistant or ADA-accredited program graduate.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Oregon certifications in dental radiography and sealants within specified timelines.
• EFDA certification consistent with state rules.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to dentists, hygienists, denturists and other provider personnel in the delivery of dental care.
• Perform duties of dental assistant under supervision and in accordance with state practice act and regulations.
• Take dental radiographs and manage imaging workflow.
• Maintain infection control and cleanliness of operatory, instruments, and processing areas.
• Organize dental records and prepare patients for treatment; greet and inform patients and/or parents about care to be provided.
