Job summary

Timber Dental is seeking a skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our Portland team. The role requires chairside support, radiographs, infection control, and patient education in a fast-paced, collaborative clinic.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience, X-ray certification (or ability to obtain), and CPR/BLS certification. EFDA is a plus. This full-time on-site position offers a patient-centered environment with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience required.
• X-ray certification (or ability to obtain per state requirements).
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• EFDA certification preferred (if applicable).
• Strong clinical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images.
• Record and update patient medical histories and clinical notes accurately.
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
