Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a skilled dental assistant to support doctors in diverse procedures including fillings, crowns, dentures, and radiographs. The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to OSHA and infection control, and accurate maintenance of patient records.

Experience with Open Dental or Dentrix is a plus, with bilingual Spanish being preferred. The compensation range is $24-$28 per hour, reflecting a dynamic, growth-focused practice across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience.
• Experience in multi-surface fillings and dentures.
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.
• Dental practice management software experience (Open Dental/Dentrix) helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a huge plus.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, FMX, charting, sterilization, rubber dam, model pouring, root canals, extractions.
• Prioritize patient and team safety.
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols; dispose of sharps and waste safely.
• Maintain digital health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details.
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences.
• Ensure exam rooms are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked.
