Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics in Colorado is seeking a motivated dental assistant (EDDA) to support doctors across general dentistry, orthodontics, and pediatric services. You will assist with restorative procedures, impressions, X-rays, sterilization, patient education, and charting, while maintaining OSHA and HIPAA protocols.

Compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour, with benefits including PTO and health insurance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience.
• Experience in multi-surface fillings and dentures.
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.
• Dental practice management software experience helpful (Open Dental/Dentrix).
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, FMX, charting, sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, extractions.
• Focus on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one.
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols and dispose of sharps and waste promptly.
• Maintain digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details.
• Educate patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health.
• Monitor the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the visit.
• Prepare tray setups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures.
• Ensure exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked.
• Chart existing treatment for new patients and update patient charts with fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Review patient charts and health history prior to doctor arrival and reconfirm chief concern.
• Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach to the patient chart.
• Help the Rodeo Team clean surfaces and common areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour
