Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is looking for an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant to join our growing team in Colorado. The role supports advanced clinical functions, assists the doctor across restorative procedures, and emphasizes patient safety and efficient workflow.

Qualifications include at least 1 year of EDDA experience, skills in fillings and dentures, CPR/AED, and OSHA/HIPAA training. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. A $2000 sign-on bonus is offered for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain OSHA/HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental software experience (Open Dental/Dentrix) helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus
• Bilingual Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures including fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, impressions, FMX, sterilization, rubber dam, and model pouring
• Ensure patient and team safety as priority
• Follow OSHA and Infection Control protocols and dispose of sharps safely
• Maintain digital patient records and treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on oral health
• Monitor patient well-being during visits
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked
• Update patient charts with treatments and histories
• Take diagnostic X-Rays and attach to charts
• Support team with general cleaning and maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 years of dental assisting (EDDA) experience
• Must have experience in multi surface filling and dentures
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
