Job summary
Emerald Waters Dental Care in Fort Walton Beach, FL, is seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to support patient care alongside a Heartland Dental supported office. You will take and develop X-rays, organize lab equipment, and assist the dentist with routine and emergency procedures to ensure smooth patient flow.
The role emphasizes excellent patient communication, precise record-keeping, ongoing education, and travel for training as needed.
Qualifications
- Positive and outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal communication and strong patient care skills.
- Superior knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Able to travel for training at least every other month; overnight stays may be required.
- Dental assisting school certificate is a plus; previous dental practice experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Taking and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
- Assisting the dentist in managing dental emergencies.
- Improving clinical skills through continuing education and Heartland Dental training opportunities.
- Organizing and maintaining lab equipment, taking and developing X-rays, and providing post-operative dental procedures.
