Job summary

The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry seeks an Electronics Technician to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic and electromechanical components for museum exhibits. The role is 10-hour shifts over 4 days with some weekend work and occasional evenings, with union oversight (IBEW Local #134).

Responsibilities include maintaining exhibit functionality, documenting status in CMMS, and coordinating repairs with the team while supporting other technicians and handling startup/shutdown

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience; college or technical school certificate is a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer systems, electronics, show control, lighting control, audio mixing and PLCs.
• Knowledge of electrical concepts including Ohms law, AC/DC, voltage, load and circuits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper working order of all exhibits and CMMS reporting.
• Coordinate repair activity with manager and other technicians.
• Perform diagnostic testing and preventative maintenance on exhibits.
