Job summary

General Motors Corporation is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Exhaust & Boosting at the Warren, MI facility. Hybrid work arrangement requires onsite presence three days a week and collaboration with multiple engineering domains to drive design, analysis, validation, and production launch of exhaust and boosting systems.

The role emphasizes DFMEA leadership, coordinated test programs, and cross-functional teamwork with suppliers, calibration, and vehicle integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in internal-combustion engine, powertrain, hardware testing, turbocharged-engine or Exhaust/EGR development.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP/PPAP and production-launch readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead communication and coordination with engineering departments and customers interfacing with Boosting or Exhaust System.
• Establish and release designs to meet performance and timing requirements; implement design changes as needed.
• Lead DFMEA and plan/execute complex test and development programs.
• Ensure designs meet requirements through analysis, development and validation processes.
• Define hardware and budget requirements for experimental build phases.
• Lead Product Development Team (PDT) meetings; participate in PMT/COE/Engine Team meetings.
• Support supplier quality assurance and warranty issue resolution.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams for current and future products.
• Travel 5–10% as needed.
