Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a clinical exercise professional to ensure safety during exercise sessions and to triage vitals pre, during, and post activity at both land and pool classes. The role includes planning and implementing clinical exercise programming and delivering personal training to clients with diverse health goals.

Requires a Bachelor's in exercise science, eligibility for BLS, and progression toward ACSM credentials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field required.
  • Level I: No previous experience required.
  • Level II: Minimum 1-year applicable experience.
  • Level III: Minimum 2 yrs. applicable experience.
  • Level I: BLS certification.
  • Level II: BLS; ACSM certification (must attain within 1 year of hire).
  • Level III: BLS (ACLS preferred), ACSM Clinical Certification as Exercise Specialist required.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications At This Level

Education
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field required.

Experience

Level I: No previous experience required.
Level II: Minimum 1-year applicable experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
Level III: Minimum 2 yrs. applicable experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

Level I: BLS certification
Level II: BLS; ACSM certification (must attain certification within 1 year of hire)
Level III: BLS (ACLS preferred), ACSM Clinical Certification as Exercise Specialist required
