Job summary

Cooper Aerobics is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to plan, guide, and direct patient management under physician supervision. The role includes conducting maximal exercise tests, maintaining records, and collaborating with physicians to optimize patient care.

You will assist with patient flow, charting, and after-hours emergency coverage while upholding HIPAA and clinic policies. A bachelor’s in a related field and EKG-reading experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, or related field.
• 6 months to 1 year experience reading EKGs in a clinic setting is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• ACSM certifications strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Performs resting electrocardiograms and maximal/submaximal exercise tests using Cooper Clinic protocols.
• Collects data and interprets physiological responses to exercise during stress tests.
• Assists physicians with patient visits, preparation, patient flow, and related duties.
• Maintains electronic medical records and inputs patient information accurately.
• Maintains and services equipment in treadmill and exam rooms; reports malfunctions.
• Administers health screening procedures.
• Attends department meetings and participates in Code 99/33 emergencies as assigned.
• Stays on-call after hours as needed.
• Supports supply management and keeps the testing areas clean and organized.
