Job summary

AdventHealth in Durand, Wisconsin, is seeking a part-time Fitness Specialist to perform fitness evaluations and assist members on-site. You will monitor floor activities, oversee the Exercise Is Medicine program, and deliver classes both on-site and in the community.

The role requires CPR/BLS certification, a Bachelor's degree, and strong English communication. Collaborative care with healthcare providers and ongoing member engagement are key aspects of the job.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
2+ years related experience preferred.
Basic computer skills and MS Office proficiency required.
CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Work Hours / Shift

Monday through Thursday with flexible start time either 6:30 or 7:00 am.

Job Description

Performs fitness evaluations, including cardiovascular tests, strength assessments, body composition analysis, functional movement assessments for new members. Monitors the exercise floor and assists members as needed. Oversees Exercise Is Medicine Program, to include teaching classes, managing physician referrals and data collection. Performs re-assessments on members to track progress and collect data. Collaborates with healthcare providers, including Physical Therapists and Physicians, to provide comprehensive care for patients. Delivers speaking engagements and teaches exercise classes both on-site and in the community. Assists in creating and delivering member engagement activities and retention programs. Maintains cleanliness of the exercise floor and oversees the maintenance of equipment. Other duties as assigned. Conducts fitness consultations and equipment orientations to help new members achieve their fitness goals.

Comprehensive knowledge of general exercise physiology theory and practices [Required]
