Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join the Non-invasive Cardiology team on a PRN day-shift schedule, with weekend and vacation coverage. The role centers on stress testing, EKG procedures, and developing exercise therapy plans for rehabilitation patients.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire. A Master’s degree is preferred, and ACSM credentials are encouraged.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Location: Henry Ford St. John Hospital

Department: Non-invasive Cardiology

Schedule: PRN; Day Shift, Coverage for weekends and staff vacations

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be conducting stress tests and EKG procedures
• Provides patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
• Plans and teaches exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen. Monitors patient's response and revises plan accordingly.
• Recognizes contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise. Responds appropriately to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals.
• Provides exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes.
• Ensures department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and functioning correctly. Prepares develops and maintains various files, records, reports; schedules patient appointments as required.
• Provides oversight to department activities in the absence of the manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association
• Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred. -
