Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire, accepted by AHA/Red Cross.
• Bachelor's degree is required for the role.
• Master's degree is preferred for advanced practice.
• Athletic Trainer credential from the Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient testing and assessments before and after rehabilitation to measure progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Design and teach exercise therapy programs tailored to individual patient needs, considering test data, health status, and medication regimens.
• Monitor patient responses to exercise, recognizing contraindications and abnormal reactions, and take appropriate action when needed.
• Provide exercise education to patients, peers, and the community through public speaking and educational classes.
• Ensure department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning, with accurate records and scheduling of appointments.
• Oversee department activities in the absence of the manager, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to protocols.

Required Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Bachelor's degree required.
