About ECU Health Medical Center

Position Summary

Plan, implement, supervise, and monitor exercise prescription and progression in groups and one-on-one. Educate, motivate, monitor, and assist customers/patients to ensure safety and a positive experience. Include the goals and wishes of the participant/patient in the exercise programming. May serve as team leader for a specialty program of expertise.

Responsibilities

1. Perform assessments, develop exercise prescriptions, and interventions tailored to individual needs across various demographics and health levels.
2. Provide safe and effective instruction through verbal cues and demonstration, monitor participants, and coach modifications and progression.
3. Supervise and assist customers/patients to ensure safety and a positive experience, adjusting plans based on responses.
4. Lead programs or projects, design and evaluate engagement strategies, and serve as a coach to motivate and educate participants.
5. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, document appropriately, and contribute to organizational goals and quality initiatives.
6. Maintain certifications and stay updated with industry advances. Assist with safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• Master's Degree or higher in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or an equivalent field. A Master's in another area with 3-5 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
• ACSM-Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification.
• At least one year of experience in Phase 2 Cardiovascular and/or Pulmonary Rehabilitation is preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to work in Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Wilson, NC.
