Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to support the Cardiac Rehab Department. You will coordinate and implement education and exercise therapy for patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, assess patients, and develop exercise and education plans for Phase I and II rehab.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology or Exercise Science (Master’s preferred); BLS within 90 days and ACLS within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science.
• Masters degree preferred.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS within 1-year of hire.
• Experience with EKG/Telemetry required.
• Cardiopulmonary or cardiac clinic experience preferred.
• Patient assessment and testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement education and exercise therapy programs for cardiac/pulmonary rehab.
• Collect data for initial patient assessment and develop exercise and education plans for Phase I and II rehab.
• Monitor and treat patients during exercise and modify plans as needed.
• Provide patient education throughout rehab processes.
