Gundersen Tri-County is seeking an Exercise Physiologist! This is your opportunity to provide care to patients in Tri County's brand-new hospital. We serve patients in three primary care clinics, a 25-bed critical-access hospital, and in an Urgent Care and Emergency Department.

What you will do:

• Implement and supervise a physical exercise program for patients.
• Work cooperatively with the healthcare team to improve the quality of patient care services delivered.
• Serve as a professional resource for Tri County Memorial and the community.
• This is a casual position with hours to be picked up as able.
• Perform 8-hour day shifts.

Job Description:

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse/Specialist or Exercise Physiologist implements and supervises physical exercise programs for disease and healthy populations, working cooperatively as part of the healthcare team to improve patient care.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Perform assessments before, during, and after exercise, ensuring patient safety.
2. Direct patients in prescribed exercises and instruct on home exercises.
3. Communicate program goals and help patients set rehabilitation goals.
4. Provide teaching and counseling for patients and families.
5. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure quality care.
6. Evaluate intervention effectiveness and document progress.
7. Obtain physician referrals and assess referrals to various programs.
8. Maintain regular attendance.
9. Engage with and care for patients personally.
10. Ensure patient safety at all times.
11. Perform other related responsibilities as needed.

Education and Learning:

Required: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or Bachelor/Master of Science in Exercise Physiology or equivalent.

Work Experience:

Required: Successful completion of a clinical internship or advanced training.

Desired: 1-3 years of experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation.

License and Certifications:

Required: Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Desired: ACSM Exercise Specialist or Exercise Physiology Registry.

Additional Details:

Serves adult and geriatric populations. Exposed to infectious diseases. Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, reaching, and climbing.
