Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to support the patient experience through structured assessment, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and families. This role emphasizes accurate data documentation, sound clinical judgment, and efficient resource use within a hospital setting.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Health & Fitness Management, with national fitness certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Health & Fitness Management.
• National fitness-related certification preferred.
• Clinical experience preferred; BLS; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses the systematic assessment–implementation–evaluation process for patients and families.
• Documents data accurately.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, prioritization and decision making.
• Organizes and utilizes available resources effectively.
• Adheres to hospital policy on attendance and punctuality.
• Attends educational programs to stay current in area of expertise.
• Follows nursing protocols/standard care statements and completes unit competency lists.
• Demonstrates professional conduct at all times.

• Demonstrates appropriate judgment, priority setting skills, and decision making abilities
• Consistently and effectively organizes and utilizes available resources.
• Adheres to hospital policy on Attendance/Punctuality.
• Attends educational programs by utilizing available resources in order to keep current in area of expertise.
• Demonstrates accurate utilization of nursing protocols/standard care statements, policies and procedures. Completes unit specific competency list.
• Responsible and accountable for professional conduct.

Education

• Minimum of Bachelor’s of Science with emphasis on Exercise Physiology and/or Kinesiology and/or Health and Fitness Management.
• National fitness related certification preferred.

Experience, Training and Characteristics

• Clinical experience preferred
• BLS
• ACLS preferred
