Job summary

The Lighthouse for The Blind in New Orleans is seeking a visionary Chief of Production & Manufacturing to lead all production and logistics activities, partnering with the CEO to drive social-enterprise goals and sustainable growth.

You will build and mentor a strong production team, implement robust processes, and ensure high-quality output across facilities while maintaining focus on mission and values. This role demands strategic thinking, budget oversight, and inclusive leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial manufacturing, engineering, business, or relevant field; may be substituted with 4 years’ senior leadership experience in production and manufacturing.
• Demonstrates high standards of speaking and writing; ability to communicate complex subjects clearly; strong business acumen and market awareness.
• Experience: at least 4 years in a manufacturing leadership position and 2 years managing business strategies; direct experience leading teams of production staff.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise team across Lighthouse production and manufacturing services.
• Physical: Able to perform duties.
• Personality Traits: Dependable; Mission-driven; Innovative; Personable; flexible; Calm under pressure; team oriented; self-directed.
• Working Conditions: Office and warehouse setting.
• Work Schedule: Full-time / Salaried.
• Background Check and Drug Testing Required: Employment contingent on results.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, strategy, planning, and guidance for Lighthouse Louisiana production and manufacturing.
• Develop procedures for day-to-day management of all P&M and shipping/receiving operations.
• Build and mentor production staff and managers; collaborate with executives and partners.
• Develop KPIs and performance standards; align with social enterprise goals and financial sustainability.
• Drive scalable processes and innovation across product development and operations.
