Job summary

MWAA is seeking a Senior Vice President of Engineering to provide strategic and operational leadership for the engineering, capital development, and construction programs across major airports in the national capital area.

This executive role oversees planning, design, construction management, and environmental engineering, reporting to the COO and coordinating with multiple offices to deliver on mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience in civil engineering and construction management.
• Experience as a second-level or higher supervisor of engineers.
• Comprehensive knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and construction management practices.
• Knowledge of key legal and regulatory requirements for major projects and ability to apply them to compliance.
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and project controls and how to apply them to meet objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic vision and priorities for engineering, capital development, and construction investments.
• Directs staff to ensure functions are ethical, customer-focused, on budget, and meet specs.
• Seeks integrated, cost-effective solutions for current and future engineering needs.
• Establishes and monitors KPIs for construction management processes.
• Ensures compliance with laws, codes, and regulatory standards across projects and offices.
