Job summary

Ladders is pursuing a VP, Claims Casualty – Excess & Surplus Specialty and Commercial Lines to lead complex casualty claims operations with a focus on strategy, technical handling, and performance. The role partners with senior claims leadership to improve effectiveness and efficiency while building high-performing teams.

Remote work is offered for US-based candidates; 15+ years in claims, CPCU designation and state licenses are required, with a track record of strategic impact and industry

Qualifications

• Fifteen plus years in claims management with seven+ years in commercial excess & surplus claims.
• Ten+ years leading diverse teams.
• Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree and advanced study in insurance advantageous.
• CPCU designation and relevant state licenses required; additional certifications desirable.
• Strong ability to analyze business trends and make strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of senior leaders and specialized claims staff handling complex claims
• Develop and execute strategies to improve claim handling effectiveness and efficiency
• Oversee claims operations for multiple segments and grant authority for claim resolution
• Partner with the Chief Claims Officer on strategic planning and technical claims expertise
• Drive claims performance to meet operational results and align with division goals
• Participate in industry committees and support special projects that represent the organization
• Develop and mentor staff to optimize performance and attract future talent
