Job description

Job Title: Senior/Executive Underwriter

Location: Must be based in Texas, preferably the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Remote work with occasional travel for agency visits within the territory.

Level: Depending on experience, candidates at an Executive or Senior Underwriter level will be considered.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead underwriting contact for the region.
  • Manage a book of new and renewal business across general industries such as manufacturing, retail, wholesale, hospitality, and commercial real estate.
  • Achieve profitability, retention, and premium goals.
  • Make independent decisions within authority limits and maintain proper documentation.
  • Manage territory: meet with agents/producers, drive new business growth, and develop annual goals for assigned agencies.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of Commercial Lines insurance experience in underwriting roles.
  • Strong knowledge of P&C, Workers Compensation, Property, General Liability, Automobile, and Umbrella lines.
  • Experience with manufacturing, retail, wholesale, hospitality, and commercial real estate industries.
  • Established relationships with retail agencies in Texas to support business growth.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and content management systems (ImageRight preferred).
  • Insurance industry designations are a plus.
