The Role:

Seeking an experienced Senior/Executive level underwriter to develop our E&S Primary & Excess product lines. You will manage a profitable book through a wholesale-only, limited distribution model.

Responsibilities:

1. Select, price, quote, and review new and renewal business following underwriting guidelines and judgment.
2. Collaborate with wholesale channels to select risks, evaluate, and recommend program structures for profitability.
3. Build and maintain strong business relationships for new opportunities and retention.
4. Present and defend book dynamics in reinsurance treaty meetings.
5. Utilize facultative relationships to maintain portfolio positions.
6. Underwrite Primary and Excess Construction and/or Non-construction risks in E&S.
7. Evaluate reinsurance needs and ensure treaty adherence.
8. Mentor and coach junior underwriters, sharing industry knowledge.
9. Set performance examples by producing new business and managing products.
10. Continuously improve industry knowledge through various educational channels.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 10+ years in insurance underwriting within the E&S space.
2. Entrepreneurial mindset, risk-taking ability, and innovative thinking.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Strong relationship-building skills and mentoring ability.
5. Results-driven with initiative and adaptability.
6. Technical proficiency in underwriting platforms.
7. CPCU and/or ARM preferred.
8. Willingness to travel nationally.
9. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a challenging environment.
