Job summary

State of Colorado's CDOT seeks a Director of the Office of Technology & Data Services to lead the department's IT strategy and budget planning. You will assess needs, select optimal IT solutions, and coordinate with OIT and contractors to deliver new systems, while ensuring ongoing maintenance and support of existing infrastructure.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of experience delivering technology and data services for a government entity or IT project management.
• Two years of public or business administration experience, including budgeting and objective setting.
• Education combined with related experience totaling ten years may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Supervise TDS staff of 13 employees including 2 subordinate supervisors.
• Coach, mentor, and train employees; monitor and evaluate performance.
• Oversee CDOT’s IT portfolio and ensure implementation of programs and strategies.
• Ensure CDOT employees have the IT software/hardware/infrastructure needed to perform their jobs.
• Manage TDS’s $65 million budget and establish controls to monitor balances.
• Coordinate with OIT and contractors to deploy new systems and maintain existing ones.
