Job summary

The Tulalip Tribes seeks a Chief Executive to serve as Superintendent for the Tribal Compact School. You will lead day-to-day operations, policy, and budget with governance from the Tribal School Board, aligning with Tribal priorities and sovereignty.

In the first year, you will design and develop the school, lead planning for startup, design educational programs, staffing, facilities, and compliance. Opening in 2027 shifts to ongoing administration and instructional leadership.

Qualifications

• Masters degree required; Doctorate preferred.
• Eight (8) years of management experience in education.
• Five (5) years of K-12 or early childhood education experience.
• Five (5) years of experience with government and grant budgets.
• Four (4) years of working with Native American students.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, startup, and implementation of the Tribal Compact School in preparation for 2027.
• Oversee policy direction, staffing plans, facilities, operations, and budget implementation.
• Engage with Tulalip Tribes leadership for alignment with tribal priorities and sovereignty.
• During startup, drive community engagement and regulatory readiness; post-launch, assume ongoing operations leadership.
