Job description

Job Overview

Executive Steward – OKANA Resort & Indoor Water Park, located in the Horizons District of Oklahoma City, OK. The position is responsible for overseeing all stewarding functions across a large‑scale, multi‑outlet food and beverage operation, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and support for culinary, restaurant and banquet teams across 27,000 sq ft of event space.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen, back‑of‑house, dishwashing and banquet areas; support a guest‑first environment.
  • Lead, schedule, supervise and coach the stewarding team across all shifts and outlets to meet high standards of hygiene and organization.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate par levels of kitchen supplies and smallwares.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal sanitation regulations, health department requirements, OSHA standards and corporate policies.
  • Assist with stewarding department budgeting, cost management, inventory tracking and financial controls.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, preventive maintenance and cleanliness of cleaning chemicals in line with OSHA and MSDS requirements.
  • Support banquet and event operations by ensuring all outlets are fully equipped and staffed.
  • Lead onboarding, training, scheduling, performance feedback and recognition programs for stewarding associates.
  • Address associate concerns, conduct performance appraisals, maintain safe work environments, and collaborate with culinary and banquet leadership.
  • Participate in operational planning, budget preparation and vendor evaluation for stewarding needs.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Food and Beverage Director.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; some college or coursework in Hospitality or Culinary Management preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in stewarding, kitchen operations or related hospitality role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity; experience in high‑volume, multi‑outlet or banquet environments strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation laws, OSHA requirements, and health department standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple outlets simultaneously.
  • Leadership, motivation, and development capabilities for a large team.
  • Fluency in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant food safety and sanitation certifications to be completed prior to starting.
Physical and Mental Requirements

Key physical demands include frequent standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, stooping, twisting, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, lifting (35–75 lbs), and operating kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals. The role requires constant interaction with team members and resort leadership, frequent telephone communication, and a high level of attention to detail, adaptability to varying shift hours, and ability to manage stress during peak events.

Compensation

$75,000 – $85,000 annually. Final compensation is based on qualifications, experience, certifications and location. This may vary by region based on cost of labor considerations.
