Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Executive Steward for Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI. You will oversee the stewarding team, manage inventory for china, glassware, linens, and silver, and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to support cooks, servers, and guests’ dining experiences.

The role requires supervisory experience in a kitchen or stewarding setting, Serve Safe certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Prior stewarding or dishwashing supervisory experience required.
• Must obtain Serve Safe certification and have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of kitchens, equipment, food production, sanitation and safety.
• Flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise stewarding department in management's absence, ensuring smooth operations.
• Maintain inventory, inspect and coordinate the distribution of all big four items: china, glassware, linens, and silver.
• Oversee proper use of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Train new dishwashing staff effectively.
• Complete daily checklists and safety/sanitation inspections, delegating tasks as needed.
• Drive resort catering truck, pickups, and golf carts on property, in city, and on highways.
• Provide support to dishwashing and service staff when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

As the Executive Steward at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, you’ll oversee the staff in the stewarding department and assist in the transportation and cleaning of cooking utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, bus persons and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests dining experience.

What will you be doing?

What do you bring to the role?

• Flexible hour’s availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior stewarding or dishwashing supervisory experience required; knowledge of kitchens, equipment, food production, sanitation and safety.
• Must obtain necessary state licenses, Serve Safe certification, and have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in humid, wet, and noisy environments with frequent interruptions.
• Capable of lifting 75 pounds and transporting 150 pounds through crowded areas; able to carry 50 pounds for short distances.
• Ability to count service ware and ensure adequate inventory for wait staff.
• Must operate large catering trucks and pass driver authorization, valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to remain calm under stress and adapt to changing tasks.
